GENERAL INFORMATION
What is it?
Senior Nutrition Programs provide congregate and home-delivered meals and other services to assist older individuals remain healthy, active, and independent in their homes and communities.
When is it?
Hot noon meals are served Monday through Friday. Meals for eligible homebound individuals are delivered to their home on the same schedule.
Who is it for?
The program is intended to serve individuals age 60 and over and their spouses of any age.
Are rides available?
Transportation can be provided for a slight fee by our senior bus or a volunteer driver.
What does it cost?
Seniors are asked to contribute what they can afford to pay. The suggested meal contribution is $3.50; the actual cost to make the meal is about $7.00. Donations pay part of the cost. The Federal Older Americans Act. the USDA, and other senior programs also fund this service.
How do I sign up?
Reservations are needed at least one day in advance and are made by calling the nutrition center nearest your home. For your convenience there is a listing of nutrition sites near the bottom of this page.
How do I volunteer?
The nutrition sites are always in need of volunteers as site workers, transportation drivers, and meal deliverers. Please call the Senior Resource Center office for information on volunteer drivers or your local nutrition site manager (listed below) about working at the site and delivering meals.
